Terms of Service
These terms describe what we ask of you when using Chunk Trainer (끊어읽기 암기장, the “Service”), and what we can and cannot promise in return.

1. What the Service is
The Service is a study tool for reading and memorizing English passages in sense groups (chunks). It provides passage entry, chunking, listening along with a YouTube video, flashcard drilling, and a personal word list.
2. Accounts
- Most features work without signing in. In that case your data lives only in your browser.
- Automatic translation and the word list require a Google account because they use server resources.
- An account is intended to be used by one person.
- Passages you created before signing in are moved into your account automatically when you sign in.
3. Your content
You keep all rights to the passages, meanings and words you enter. We process them only to store them and show them back to you. We do not use them for training, advertising, or resale.
However, you are responsible for the rights to any copyrighted material you upload. When you paste from a textbook or an article, please keep it within the bounds of personal study.
4. What you may not do
- Call the Service through automated means at excessive volume, particularly the automatic translation feature
- Attempt to access another user’s account or data
- Store or distribute unlawful content
- Interfere with the normal operation of the Service
5. Third-party services
The Service relies on Google Sign-In, Google Translate, YouTube and Cloudflare. Their terms and policies apply alongside these terms. In particular, use of video content is subject to the YouTube Terms of Service.
Automatic translation uses Google Translate’s public endpoint. Because this is not an official API, it may stop working without notice, and we do not guarantee the accuracy of any translation. You can always edit a meaning by hand, and a meaning you typed always takes precedence over the machine translation.
6. Responsibility for your data
We make an effort to keep your data safe, but we do not guarantee permanent storage. Data created without signing in lives only in your browser and disappears if you clear your browsing data or move to another device.
For anything important, please use “Save passages” to download a backup file and keep it yourself.
7. Changes to and discontinuation of the Service
Features may be added, changed or removed without prior notice. If the Service has to be shut down entirely, we will give notice in advance so that you can export your data.
8. Suspension of access
If you repeatedly breach Section 4 or seriously disrupt the operation of the Service, we may restrict your account after notifying you. In urgent cases we may restrict access first and notify you afterwards.
9. Disclaimer
The Service is provided free of charge and “as is”. We are not liable for your study results, the accuracy of translations, or damages caused by outages of third-party services. This does not limit our liability for our own willful misconduct or gross negligence.
10. Changes to these terms and contact
If these terms change we will update the date at the top of this page, and significant changes
will be announced inside the Service. For questions, please write in the sheet below.
